Summer
“As summer unfolds across the Northland, I see beauty and the faithful rhythm of a Creator who never rushes His seasons.”
Summer In the Northland
Summer in the Northland carries a quiet magic, revealing God’s handiwork in warmth, color, and discovery. From June’s tender greens to August’s golden evenings, it is a brief yet radiant chapter in the Northland’s story—one that invites us to slow down and treasure each passing day.
June awakens the shoreline. Wild lupines sweep across open fields in shades of violet and rose, morning mist rises in cool, gentle light, and loons call from secluded bays. Long hours of daylight stretch unhurriedly, offering time to wander forest paths and watch as the season gathers strength.
July stands in full abundance. Waterfalls tumble with lingering spring energy, waves roll steadily against ancient rock, and eagles circle above pine-covered ridges. Warm air settles beneath towering trees while sunsets linger, painting the vast waters of Lake Superior in hues that seem to last forever.
By August, subtle change whispers through the crisp edge of evening air. Fireweed glows along the shore, thunderstorms sweep in with sudden drama, and rainbows arch across clearing skies. It is summer’s final flourish—an invitation to pause, breathe deeply, and savor the light before autumn quietly arrives.
Summer may be fleeting, but its warmth and wonder linger long after the days begin to shorten.
