April 13 – Spring Fishing
A lone fisherman stands against the glowing horizon as the sun rises over Lake Superior. In moments like this, the shoreline becomes more than a place — it becomes a refuge.
The gentle rhythm of waves against stone and the steady arc of a cast line create a stillness that only early morning can offer. The lake seems endless, yet deeply personal, inviting quiet reflection as the first light spreads across the water.
April along Lake Superior is prime time for anglers pursuing steelhead and lake trout near shore. As tributaries swell with snowmelt, steelhead move upstream to spawn, returning from the vast lake to the very rivers where they began life. Their determined journey against cold currents reflects a resilience built into creation itself.
“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” — Lamentations 3:22–23
Each sunrise brings that promise. Just as the angler casts again with quiet expectation, we receive another opportunity to begin anew. Step outside. Pause. Notice the light. It always returns — and with it, fresh mercy for the day ahead.
