April 27 – Double Take

Day 117 of 365

The Aerial Lift Bridge frames the Blatnik Bridge on a beautiful April evening. The longer days of late April now stretch well into the evening. Nearly 60% of the day is daylight, and we are already about 30% of the way through the year.

Although the waters of Lake Superior remain just above freezing, warmer breezes and strengthening sunshine have nearly cleared the harbor of winter ice—a quiet promise of the season ahead.

The seasons move forward day by day, often so gradually that we scarcely notice. Only when we pause and look around do we realize how far we have come—and how quickly time passes.

“Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.” — Lamentations 3:22–23

A short walk on these lingering spring evenings is a gentle reminder that time keeps moving. Make the most of each day, pause long enough to take it in, and enjoy the gift of today—because there will never be another one quite like it.
