Sailboats

July 9 – Sails Up!

Day 190 of 365

An evening watching sailboats skim across the clear blue waters of Lake Superior is a timeless summer pleasure. For those along the Lakewalk and Park Point, it becomes a quiet ritual—walking the beach, feeling the lake breeze, and watching the fleet scatter across the horizon. With warm grasses at your feet, cool water stretching to the distance, and white sails catching the light, you can feel summer itself drifting by.

As the land cools toward evening, the wind begins its subtle dance—easing, shifting, then suddenly filling the sails once more. Each race becomes a living reflection of summer’s daily rhythm, shaped by forces both seen and unseen.

The Bible often uses wind to describe how God works. We may not see Him, but we can clearly witness His movement and presence all around us.

Just as you cannot understand the path of the wind… so you cannot understand the activity of God, who does all things. — Ecclesiastes 11:5

God’s providence surrounds us each day; what a profound reassurance to know that He is always near.
